Hi, I'm Han, the current Year 1 Academic Representative, and I'm running for Academic Officer for BMB, bringing my passion for our course, initiative for academic support and communication skills to you! I know how difficult being at Imperial can be so I want to improve our experience by:

• Increasing exams preparation: although we achieve exam experience through e.g. tAPPs, consolidation, formatives, many students are anxious for exams (I'm sure you feel the same) due to it counting for 50% of some modules and the lack of e.g. exam questions that mean we can't fully prepare for exams.

• More teacher-led learning: a lot of our materials are online which reduces engagement with the content. For example, we could push for explanations of our online consolidations, which are usually adjacent to exam material, in class that would really boost our understanding of the topic.

• Encouraging actual change: I want to continuously push for feedback from the student body through more regular and compulsory surveys that allow students to vent their anxieties, frustrations, etc. (and positive things too...) to ensure that concerns don't get pushed to the sidelines. Included in this would be increased transparency in SSLG meetings (our meetings with the faculty!).

Since I'm a BMB student like you, I absolutely know what it feels like to want academic changes and I will draw from my personal experience, but also yours to work together with our collective voice and ensure your input is noticed by our faculty!!! ❤️
