Hi there, I'm Han and I'm running to be your BMB president! ♡
The ICSMSU and BMBSoc can do more for us and I can change this for BMB students from all 3 years.
✅ Stronger Identity in ICSM and SU:
- Why were the fresher and most ICSM/SU events catered to medics (e.g. most events at Charing Cross, Fresher Passport)?
- BMB can no longer be overshadowed by the medics. I will strive for equality between both courses.
✅ Increased Impactful Career Support:
- I will organise more networking events and hands-on workshops and expand to diverse biomedical fields like biotech, law, finance, engineering and etc.
- I will bring back the IC HealthHack and implent more events between Life Sciences and ours.
✅ Better Meaningful Academic Support:
- We only have 2 past papers each module and our personal tutor cannot aid us with content and exams - where do we get academic help?
- I will set up a mentor programme within BMB families. This will mean more guidance on ICAs where we do not have formatives and exams.
✅ Better Sense of Community and Socials:
- I will create monthly drinks socials (with free drink tokens!).
Why vote for me? Because I already have:
- Experience outreaching to researchers and organisations for internships and speaker opportunities.
- Strong leadership, from successfully organising past events, and teamwork skills to foster a real BMB identity.
- Experience working with our teaching faculty to make meaningful changes, as the current Y1 Academic Rep.
