I’m Yuanze, your current International Officer, and I’m running for re-election to continue representing and supporting Imperial’s international community.

This year, I worked closely with the Union to advocate for international student welfare. I raised concerns around:

1. International tuition fee increases

2. Supported students affected by geopolitical conflicts

3. Collected views on UK immigration policy changes

4. Pushed for the introduction of free English language courses for non-native speakers.

If re-elected, I will:

• Continue representing international students in Union and College decision-making
• Keep campaigning against disproportionate tuition fee increases and advocate for better financial support
• Work with the International Team to improve visa guidance and policy communication
• Push to implement free English language support for non-native speakers
• Promote scam prevention awareness and practical welfare support
• Collaborate with mental health services to better support students facing cultural and language barriers
• Organise inclusive cultural events that celebrate our diverse community

International students face unique academic, financial, and cultural challenges. Effective representation requires experience, persistence, and institutional knowledge. Over the past year, I have demonstrated all three.
