Aayan Qaisar – Candidate for Interfaith Network Member
I’m Aayan Qaisar a first year Biomedical Science with Management student. Faith has always been a central part of my life. Growing up with religion while navigating modern academic and social environments has taught me how powerful faith can be in shaping values, resilience, and compassion. At the same time, it has shown me how important understanding and dialogue are when people come from different beliefs and traditions.
I am fascinated by the philosophical and moral connections between different faiths. Despite differences in practices or traditions, many religions share common foundations: compassion, justice, humility, and service to others. I believe recognising these shared values is key to building stronger communities.
If elected, I want to help create an Interfaith Network that actively encourages dialogue, curiosity, and mutual respect across Imperial’s diverse student body.
My priorities will be to:
- Promote open interfaith dialogue through collaborative discussions and events between faith societies.
- Highlight shared values between faiths to strengthen unity rather than division.
- Create welcoming spaces where students feel comfortable discussing faith, belief, and identity.
- Encourage learning about different traditions so students can engage with new perspectives and wisdom.
Imperial is an incredibly diverse community. By celebrating both our differences and our shared beliefs, we can move beyond simply coexisting as separate groups and instead build a united community of faith and understanding.
