Hi everyone, I’m Tansy and I’m in second year :) I’ve enjoyed being a 1b academic rep SO much and I would love to carry the work we’ve done over for our current 1st years (and in utero freshers).
As a rep team, this year we’ve deliberately focused on ensuring everyone knows who we are and everyone feels comfortable coming to any of us. Continuing this would of course be the first priority. <3 My other aims are to:
- Establish a rep handover for each module. Valuable work gets lost in the year-to-year switchover and as a part of the current rep team, I am in a good position to ensure its continuity.
- Improve the consistency between faculty CPA (2nd year clinical exam) and ICSMSU/society-led teaching. We’ve noticed this from students. Working with the clin skills team means I know they’ve also noted this as a point of interest.
- Facilitate inter-year communication around Horizons/I-Explore modules! Shoutout to ICSM Music and Opera to helping us individually with this <3 I'd love to make something centralised to help people make a truly informed decision.
I’ve often thought of Academics as the scariest stream of SU 😅 – I think we’ve changed that a little bit this year and I’d love to change it even more. Thank you for considering me as your next AOEY :)
