Hi everyone! I’m Robert, a 2nd year running to be your Academic Officer for Early Years.
Having been a former academic rep, and worked on both SurgSoc and NeuroSoc committees, I’m in an excellent position to continue supporting academia and student voice at ICSM.
Besides general improvements to course admin, I’d like to increase academic opportunity for all first and second years:
- SU-led POM tutoring scheme, with a Certificate of Recognition for all tutors (excellent for your portfolio!)
- Push for medical societies to have more focused teaching towards first and second years
- Weekly academic bulletin, which would include:
- Current projects we’re working on
- Student spotlight for recent academic pursuits - I would love to recognise your success, and use it encourage your peers!
