Rahime Yavuz

Hello, lovely RSMU community!

To introduce myself briefly, I am Rahime, a Materials second year undergraduate student. My main motivation for applying to this role is the minority of materials representation in the union. I want to change this by producing a connection between the materials department and RSMU and increase awareness of the events going on. Being a MatSoc candidate puts me in a good position to achieve this.

I would like to be involved in the union mainly to get experience on how things work and help around with anything that’s needed. I am willing to contribute by attending meetings and sharing any ideas I have. I am good with group work, for example last year, I was selected the best for my position in the design study project. Which is a good discipline to have as a committee member.

I enjoy attending to the events held by RSM and next year, I will like to contribute by being in the committee. I am also keen to promote RSM more. Having done ambassador jobs such as discover materials puts me in a good position to represent a society.

RSM has diversity of majors and I think this provides nice variety of ideas, I would like to meet other people and help organise events that brings these majors together and build connections.
