Hello everyone,
I'm Apollo Yang, a Year 3 student from Biomedical Engineering. Over the past two years, I served as the Spanner Bearer and Alumni Officer at City and Guilds Union.
This year, I am running for Vice President, and I am asking for your trust that I will deliver what I promise and am capable of.
This year, I am running for Vice President, and I am asking for your trust that I will deliver what I promise and am capable of.
Over the past few years, I helped with the CGCU Welcome dinner, Boat Party, Makeathon, and organised events such as the Pub Crawl and Alumni Dinner. And I have stood upright and fought back when RCSU was demanding a ransom.
What I want to achieve next year:
- Provide free welfare products and stationery for all CGCU students to claim during the Welcome and C&G Week.
- Continue the Welcome Dinner in October and hold Freshers' Briefing sessions for international students during the summer.
- Host "Faces of Engineering"—an event connecting engineering students and alumni with career-focused panels, discussions, and opportunities.
- Smooth processes and strengthen communications for CSPs under CGCU's management group when running their events, without compromising Union regulations.
Over the past three years, I have had my most unforgettable moments at CGCU. I enjoy every moment I spend with our guildsmen and guildsladies: dancing, talking, drinking and floating. I love this community, and I want to continue leading it forward.
You are not voting for an empty talker—you are voting for actions, for someone who'd dedicate a huge chunk of his time in his final year to make our Constituent Union thrive.
Your sincerely,
Apollo Yang
