Marissa Wu
Hi everyone! I’m Marissa, a second-year Molecular Bioengineering student.
This year, as Wellbeing Officer, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know so many of you and working to make our engineering community more inclusive, supportive, and connected. Creating spaces where students feel heard (whether through puppy therapy days or simple tea and coffee catch-ups) has shown me how powerful small, intentional changes can be.
I’m running for Vice President because I want to continue that work while strengthening how CGCU operates behind the scenes. The Vice President plays a key role in turning ideas into action: supporting our committees, improving communication across departments, and ensuring initiatives are delivered effectively and sustainably.
I’ll work closely with the President, Faculty, the ICU President, and DPCS to support long-term priorities like securing dedicated rest and study areas and progressing conversations around a centralised, on-campus engineering project space. While these are ambitious goals, the Vice President can help maintain momentum, build partnerships, and ensure continuity year to year.
Most importantly, I want to remain approachable and proactive — someone who listens, follows through, and helps make CGCU work better for you.
