Through my experience as Promotional Officer for the Synthetic Biology society (SynBIC) and Social Media Manager for the Imperial iGEM 2025 team, I have developed a strong interest in science communication, visual design, and digital engagement with different audiences. Previously, I have created promotional materials for academic/social events, managed social media platforms, and worked to present scientific ideas in ways that are engaging and accessible to students.
I regularly test out my creative ideas using tools like Canva and Adobe Photoshop, alongside graphic design, photography, and video editing, to produce promotional content such as posters, event-tailored graphics, short-form videos, and social media campaigns. I enjoy finding unique and aesthetically appealing ways to promote events and opportunities, and using design and storytelling to help build excitement and engagement within the scientific community.
As RCSU Publicity Officer, I would use these skills to help ensure that events, opportunities, and student achievements across the Royal College of Science are communicated clearly, creatively, and consistently, making it easier for students to stay informed and feel connected to the wider Imperial College community.
Key skills I bring to the role include:
-
Social media management and digital outreach
-
Graphic design using Canva & Adobe Photoshop
-
Photography and visual storytelling
-
Video editing for promotional content
-
Clear & accessible science communication
-
Designing promotional materials for events and initiatives
