Khushi Joshi
Hi, I'm Khushi, and I'm running again for Broadsheet Editor.
I've spent the past year running the magazine, which means I've now experienced every part of it: the fun bits, the chaotic bits, and the "why are we fixing formatting at midnight" bits. The good news is that after doing it once, I actually know how everything works now. I know how to keep an issue moving, how to manage writing-illustrating-editing-layout, and how to deal with the inevitable last-minute hiccups without the whole thing falling apart.
If you've seen the most recent issue, that's probably the best example of what we've been able to do this year. We've expanded the kinds of pieces we publish, brought in new writers, and tried to make Broadsheet feel more like a creative space for science.
I've also focused on making Broadsheet more visible. Two things I pushed for this year were reviving the website and actually making the Instagram page active, so the articles we publish don't just sit in a PDF somewhere.
Running for Editor again is basically about keeping that momentum going. Now that the systems are in place, we can spend less time figuring things out and more time making the magazine even better.
Now that I know the ropes, I'd love the chance to keep building on what we've started.
