Ishita Anand

Hi all! My name is Ishita, I'm a 2nd-year Ecology and Environmental Biology student, and I would love to be your Biology Academic Dep Rep for 2026-2027. I'm from India, the US, and Singapore, and I bring a diverse set of skills and experience to this role. My goals for next year include: further work to make the personal tutor and exam marking process more consistent, greater interaction with academic year reps and lecturers during events such as townhalls, working with staff for faster feedback turnover between assessments, as well as working collaboratively with the department to ensure high quality of education across modules and year groups.

Here is some of my experience:

- Wellbeing Dep Rep: founded the Takeover Tuesday initiative in line with our transparency goals this past year

- Extensive student government work in secondary school over 6 years, including President, Treasurer, Service Director, House Coordinator, and Grade Rep. I founded many organizations and platforms, such as the Service Council, where we raised over 30,000 SGD for support during the pandemic.

- Debate and public speaking: MUN for 4 years and a TEDx speaker

- Extracurricular involvement: I am greatly involved in Musical Theatre Society here at Imperial, and have loved being part of performance, dance, and sports clubs throughout my life. This well-rounded exposure has given me insight into the varied perspectives of completely different groups of people.
