Jennifer Luo
Hi everyone!
I’m Jenny Luo, and I’m running to be your Wellbeing Representative for our second year of Biological Sciences. Having experienced both the challenges and rewards of our course, I understand how academic pressures can affect our wellbeing and motivation.
My goal is to reduce academic stress and foster an inclusive, supportive environment for everyone. I plan to work closely with course reps and staff to improve communication around workload and assessment deadlines, and to push for realistic expectations and flexible support during demanding times. I’d also like to organise peer study sessions and wellbeing catch-ups, helping us share strategies, stay on top of work, and support each other beyond the lecture hall.
As someone with several years of tutoring experience, I’ve learned the importance of empathy, patience, and active listening. I’ve seen how much confidence can grow when students feel understood and supported—and I want to bring that same mindset to our cohort.
Inclusivity is equally central to me. Every student deserves to feel valued, heard, and comfortable seeking help. I’ll ensure all voices are represented through open feedback channels and collaboration with student wellbeing services.
Together, we can make second year not just manageable, but genuinely fulfilling. Let’s create a community that learns, supports, and grows together.
