Erb Shivdeep

Hallo everybody, I’m Erb S, and I’m running to be your Y2 Academic Rep. Many of you may already know me from various interactions in the year group chat, or from simply around the maths building.

Having also survived first year, I know how the workload of Imperial Maths can feel overwhelming and unbalanced at times, so this year, I would like to contribute to our department by streamlining communications between overselves—the students—and the course staff to alleviate this. This includes gathering your opinions, complaints and queries about exams, coursework and problem sheets (such as their frequency and consistency) and appropriately lobbying at meetings for positive changes to be made moving forward, based on your feedback.

I aim to collect a fair sample of this through a variety of mediums such as online feedback forms, in-person conversations at stall and wellbeing events, and, of course, through the year group chat. I would also actively take your input on how best to have this information collected to optimise this process: for example, if fewer feedback forms would be preferable, when the Happiness Index already exists, then I would ensure that that would be taken into consideration.
