This is a joint nomination for both myself (George Peters) and Anne-Marie Reid. We are running in order to be the regular 'Friday Session' people who are always there and helping out. These sessions are open to non-members of the society, so having regular people there will ensure they have a more welcoming experience and feel more inclined to purchase a membership.
We both have already recruited several members for the art club during our time at these Friday sessions, and (according to the chairman Zahir) are the 'nucleus of art club' as we are always a present figure in these session and really contribute to the overall vibes. We also are always active in the art club whatsapp group chat, helping out with peoples' questions.
Our contribution to the welcoming feeling of the club is enhanced through our mascot cat Jesmond (see photo). Everyone who has attended a Friday session before will already know him as a friendly face, as he always accompanies us to the club. As ordinary members, we will ensure that everyone attending a Friday session will get an exciting experience with Jesmond.
We will also ensure the presence of baked goods during the Friday sessions, such as cakes, brownies, and cookies ;)
