Earth Science & Engineering (UG): Year Two Wellbeing Representative

Hello! My name is Grace, and I am excited to be running as wellbeing rep this year.

To all my fellow students, congrats on making it through first year! As you may already know, year 2 is a tough year. The stakes feel much higher, and as we all know too well, the effects of this can catch up with us a little too quickly…

I have experienced and understand many of the difficulties that students face therefore I feel passionate about general wellbeing of my classmates. I would hope to do everything in my (very small amount of) power to support others.

In my first year, I have made some smalls wins as a humble student:

  • Became a member of the department’s EDIC committee and led discussions on promoting more awareness of Neurodiversity
  • Played a role in the guidance of how lighting is used in lectures to benefit those with sensitives and the general learning of others
  • Alongside another ESE student, given feedback, presentations and written articles about the fieldwork experience

If you vote for me, I will aim to deliver:

  • A signposting service to support (I know my way around LOTS of the department and university support systems)
  • A way to escalate issues: Bringing up issues in meetings and make sure students stay in the loop, with progress of issues raised and resolutions.
  • I am a friendly face and will take any concerns seriously
  • Work alongside Dep reps to achieve their goals

Thanks for reading this far!
