Russian Speaking: Treasurer

Privet, friends!

I’m running to be your treasurer because I believe in a Russian Society that’s as vibrant, warm, and well-organised as a bowl of homemade borscht. With a love of Tolstoy’s epic truths and a calculator always on hand, I want to bring both soul and structure to our events next year.

The goal is simple: no mysterious admin fees, no vanishing receipts, and no surprise spending. Just clear, transparent budgeting that actually supports the things we care about—cultural celebrations, socials, academic events, and of course, good food. Let’s make sure our funds go toward making memories, not mistakes.

But beyond numbers, this role is about building community. The Russian Society should be a welcoming space for all Russian speakers—regardless of background, nationality, or origin. Whether you’re from Saint Petersburg, Bishkek, or somewhere entirely different, there’s strength in unity. Let’s create a peaceful and inclusive Russophone world where language connects rather than divides.

Every ruble should work for us. Every event should feel worth showing up to. And every member should feel like they belong.

Here’s to a year of meaningful connection—and budgets that behave.
