Hi, I'm Mariya, and I'd love to join the Orthopaedics Society committee!

This year, I'm a Workshop Coordinator on the subcommittee for this Society's first-ever national conference. I've demonstrated that I can meet my deadlines and the expectations of my team. In this role, I've secured leading experts in the field to run the workshops and provide inspirational insights to our attendees.

However, this experience taught me how expensive orthopaedic events can be, which has motivated me to apply for the position of sponsorship officer. Through careful collaboration and partnership, I am determined to secure the funding that this society needs to host high-quality events that remain affordable for all.

During the summer of 2024, I volunteered with the WATCCH programme at Imperial, assisting disadvantaged students applying to medical school. This experience allowed me to develop my leadership and teamwork skills, which will be vital in this position.

As a member of 'PlayTeam,' I volunteer at St Mary's Paediatric department. Despite my ever-growing uni workload, I'm still able to maintain my commitments. As a reliable and trustworthy individual, I am confident that I can carry the responsibility of this role.

I enjoyed being on subcommittee and I have so many ideas to improve our events and inspire the next generation of orthopods!
