Oncology: Palliative care officer
Hi, I’m Jonathan, and I’m running to be your Palliative Care Officer for the Oncology Society. Palliative care is an essential aspect of oncology, and I’m passionate about raising awareness and providing educational opportunities in this crucial area.
Having previously done hospital placements in the Haematology department that sees with many terminally ill patients, I understand the importance of compassionate and comprehensive palliative care. I’m committed to integrating this perspective into our society's activities.
As Palliative Care Officer, I will aim to:
- Promote Palliative Care Education: Organize workshops, lectures, and discussions on palliative care principles and practices within oncology.
- Increase Awareness: Raise awareness of the importance of palliative care among society members and the wider student body.
- Facilitate Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Foster collaboration with palliative care professionals and related societies to provide a holistic approach to patient care.
- Provide Resources: Curate and disseminate resources on palliative care, including research articles, clinical guidelines, and support services.
- Advocate for Patient-Centered Care: Emphasize the importance of patient-centered care and the integration of palliative care into oncology practice.
I’m dedicated to ensuring palliative care is a key focus within the Oncology Society. Let’s work together to promote compassionate and comprehensive care!
