Dhruvit Modi
Hey everyone! I’m Dhruvit Modi, a third-year medic, and I’m excited to run for Acute Medicine Lead of the Acute Care Society. With my passion for acute medicine and anaesthetics, alongside my experience organising events and securing funding through iPRAS, I’m eager to enhance educational and hands-on opportunities for students.
As Treasurer for iPRAS, I created detailed event budgets, secured a £420 grant for microsurgery equipment, and worked with KCL finance to manage a paediatrics conference. I’ve also coordinated sponsorships and helped plan workshops, giving me insight into running impactful events — skills I’m excited to bring to the Acute Care Society.
As Acute Medicine Lead, I aim to:
-
Organise hands-on simulation sessions, including sepsis management, chest drain insertion, and resuscitation scenarios, to build essential practical skills.
-
Host an Acute Care Conference, featuring talks from acute physicians, case discussions, and career panels tailored to acute medicine and anaesthetics.
-
Arrange clinical skills workshops, such as ABG interpretation, ECG reading, and rapid trauma assessment.
-
Establish hospital-based shadowing schemes with acute care teams, giving students direct insight into the fast-paced environment of acute medicine.
-
Collaborate with consultants to create a 'Crash Call Masterclass', teaching critical decision-making and emergency protocols.
I’m committed to making acute care education as dynamic and immersive as possible, and I’d be incredibly grateful for your vote — let’s make next year an exciting one for the society!
Thank you for reading my manifesto!
