Since I joined DebateSoc in 2024, I have made new friends and grown incredibly as a person.

As your Public Debates Officer, I’ll reach out to societies and organizations, and organize events which introduce students to debate and show that it is truly for everyone, regardless of your background or interests.
- more money for comps / socials?
If public debates inspire more people to join, they might also buy membership.
They might volunteer when we host competitions, so we can have more rooms.
Proceeds can then be reinvested!
- a hard worker with great attention to detail?
Thoroughness governs everything I do, especially when organizing events. I’ve proven this during Juniors, which ran smoothly because of the attention to detail I paid at every stage of the process. I therefore hope you can trust me to organize future events successfully too!

Communicating, within and outside Committee, is key to this role, and I’ve proved I can do so in a clear, polite, adaptable manner. I can be professional and also friendly, allowing me to represent DebateSoc in any and all settings.
