Sudharshan Palaniappa
Hi everyone! My name is Sudharshan, and I’m a third-year medical student who is excited to be running for the position of Vice-President in Oncology Society.
My journey in OncoSoc began two years ago when I attended the Surgical Oncology Conference as a delegate. I then joined the subcommittee and was later elected as the current Academic Officer. These experiences have allowed me to contribute to the society’s growth while also benefiting from the incredible learning opportunities it offers. By assuming the role of Vice-President, I hope to give back to our members and further strengthen the society.
As Vice-President, my priority would be to assist the President in decision-making and strategic planning while ensuring the smooth execution of existing events such as our flagship conference and speaker series. I also aim to introduce new opportunities such as a mentorship program and research networking sessions. Additionally, I hope to expand our outreach efforts and potentially collaborate with oncology societies from other universities to organise a national oncology conference.
I have held leadership roles in multiple other societies within Imperial, such as being Vice-President (Events) of FoMSF and National Conference Lead in SORA. These experiences have given me the skills to effectively lead, communicate, and work as part of a team.
I’m committed to making the Oncology Society a more engaging and enriching experience for all. I would love to serve as your Vice-President and contribute to our shared passion for oncology.
Please consider casting your vote for me, thank you!
