Hi everyone! I am Egor, a Medical Biosciences student running for the position of Vice President of the Oncology Society. To me, cancer is more than just a disease - it represents fear, uncertainty, and suffering, but also a vast and ever-evolving field of research. As one of the leading causes of death worldwide, cancer is a critical topic that must be addressed. By running for this position, I aim to support the future president with their vision and, through the events organised by the committee, raise awareness about the current progress in cancer treatment.
I believe I am well-suited for the role of Vice President due to both my deep interest in oncology and my leadership experience. Throughout my studies, I have represented students at various levels. In high school, I was part of a team of house leads responsible for conveying students’ thoughts and ideas to the staff, addressing concerns, and organising social events. I believe that my passion for establishing effective communication and building connections is what makes me a suitable candidate for this role.
Together with the Oncology Society committee, I am confident that we can create a more approachable, responsive, and welcoming environment for all Imperial students. With the support of our peers, I believe we can achieve remarkable results and unite the aspiring oncologists.
