Amit Mallya

Hi, my name is Amit Mallya and I am a 2nd year medical student. I have put myself forward as a candidate for this role because oncology deeply interests me because it combines my passion for medicine with the opportunity to make a tangible impact on people’s lives during some of their most challenging times. The complexity and continuous evolution of cancer treatment, from cutting-edge therapies like immunotherapy and targeted treatments to advancements in personalized medicine, captivate me. I am inspired by the opportunity to not only provide medical care but also offer emotional support to patients and their families as they navigate their cancer journey. The multidisciplinary approach in oncology—working alongside surgeons, researchers, and other specialists—appeals to my collaborative nature, while the potential to contribute to groundbreaking research and improve patient outcomes motivates me to be a part of this dynamic and transformative field. Ultimately, oncology offers the chance to combine compassionate care with innovation, making it a deeply fulfilling and meaningful area of practice. With this being said, I put myself forward for VP for this role with the willingness to get involved in one of the most renowned medical societies at imperial and try and take it to new heights in the coming year.
