Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine: Welfare Officer

Being the secretary for PHEM for the past year, I have gained experience managing the adminstrative side of our society, from documenting meeting minute to publicitising our PHEM Talks. With a deep understanding of how to support our members, I am excited to run for Welfare Officer, putting your wellbeing at the heart of everything I do. I plan to achieve this with the following “E”s:

  1. Emergency Phone: As the welfare officer my primary responsibility will be managing the emergency phone which I promise to keep by my side 24/7 - whether I'm in the toilet or in the library no matther the time or place, I will always be just “one call away”.

  2. Empathy: My experience in the diverse ambulance shifts, I have witnessed the first hand emotional impact Pre-hospital medicine might have on our members. Understanding the challenges you may face, I ensure that you will be heard, valued and supported hoilistically by me.

  3. Enthusiasm: Welfare is not a passive support, instead it is about proactive care. I aim to regularly check in on our members who have attended to difficult calls, providing debrief or even simply buying you a coffee and chat. My ultimate goal is to foster a safe space for you to confide any issues and to reassure you that you are not alone.

With my experience, dedication and proactivity, I will put your welfare as my priority. I promise to be there when you need me.

Vote for me and let's look after each other!
