Eugenia Tong
Hi, I'm Eugenia, and I'm a 3rd-year Chemistry student.
I want to ensure that the ChemSoc newsletter is as clear, engaging, and useful as possible, drawing on my experience with communications and weekly newsletters in secondary school.
We all get a lot of emails, so my goal is to make sure the newsletter remains a reliable and convenient one-stop shop for career opportunities, volunteering roles, and society updates. To make it even more user-friendly, I’d like to:
- Introduce an "At a Glance" summary, highlighting key events and deadlines, so you can prioritise activities that are most relevant to you.
- Keep the navigable links to relevant sections, allowing easy access to more detailed information about the opportunities you care about.
- Encourage guest contributions, especially by reaching out to postgrads and academics in our department who have valuable insights and experiences to share. We should showcase the inspiring work being done by our community!
- Add an integrated feedback form: Ever wanted to compose an email just to ask for a small adjustment? I know I haven’t. This form should make this more convenient.
As a 3rd-year student, I have an understanding of the opportunities that might be most relevant at different stages of the degree. However, I also want to ensure that the newsletter reflects what you all find most useful. By incorporating feedback, I hope to keep the content concise, easy to navigate, and genuinely helpful for everyone.
I’d love the opportunity to make the ChemSoc newsletter something worth reading!
