Camila Goncalves Leon

Hey Everyone! I’m Camila, a second-year student, and I am excited to step into my third year at Imperial, hopefully as your next BiochemSoc President.

Having served as your Academic Events Officer this year, I’ve learned about how the society runs and identified areas for growth and improvement. I am confident that I can make your next year of Biochemistry more enjoyable, enriching, and full of opportunities for success.

I am committed to helping you get the most out of your degree: exploring career paths, connecting with your peers, and having fun along the way!

My Goals as President:

• More engaging academic talks with diverse speakers, unique formats, and, of course, pizza!
• Stronger collaborations with academic and non-academic societies for socials and career-building workshops (CVs, networking, taster events, etc.).
• Boost the Biochem Mums and Dads Program: making sure the first-years feel welcome.
• Build a more connected Biochems community by increasing the interactions across all year groups to create a well-connected and unified community.
• Ensure efficient communication between students and the department.
• Putting your ideas first: Take feedback from you! I want to hear what events and initiatives YOU want so we can build a society that truly benefits everyone!
