Chemistry: President

Howdily-doodily! I’m Anton, your current 1st Year Representative :)

To say that ChemSoc has shaped my whole university experience would be an understatement. It has made for the fondest memories from the very start of my course, and ever since I have wished to contribute to the Society. I am now running for the role of president and am hoping for your support.

If elected, my goals for next year will include:

  • Inviting prominent chemists to give seminars about their research
  • Organising career talks and lab tours with Imperial start-ups
  • Seeking out new sponsors to ensure our society has even more funds
  • Delivering frequent socials and collaborating with more societies
  • Increasing communication with Departmental representatives to coordinate efforts in improving the student experience

I have extensive experience in organising events, be that doing the necessary paperwork or communicating with the Union, and I will ensure that everyone joining next year’s committee is supported and not facing any task alone. Most importantly, you will always be able to reach out to me, whether for suggestions or just a friendly chat.

With the next year also being my last, it would be a great honour to lead the society to which I owe so many fond memories. I kindly ask you to vote for me as your president and I promise to bring ChemSoc to new heights, ensuring it is as impactful and enriching to your experience here as it has been for me.

All the best,
Anton
