Oscar Purcell-Shirley

Hello all! My name is Oscar Purcell-Shirley and I'm a current 4th Year MSci Chemist in the Gasparini Group.

I am standing for the position of Year Four Academic Representative as I want to ensure our final year runs as smoothly as possible. I believe a strong point of contact between students and staff is key to this, therefore voicing your concerns and opinions will be my priority. I feel I am approachable, amicable, a good listener, and most importantly a determined person who will make sure your voice is heard.

As your academic representative, I would aim to:

1. Keep you well informed of decisions made by the Department relating to our exams/coursework or Master's projects.
2. Guarantee that these decisions are always to your benefit.
3. Ensure the 9am-6pm working hours are adhered to for the sake of fairness and wellbeing.

I will deliver these aims by using my previous experience as a student representative at school. Along with this, I intend to give you as many opportunities as I can to inform me of any problems, or ways I can improve your experience.

It would be a great privilege to act as your academic representative this year, and to be given the chance to make a positive impact on your last year at Imperial.
