Sam-I Liew
Hi! I'm Sam-I, a first-year Economics, Finance, and Data Science student, drawn to the dynamic world of Finance. Though it hasn't been long, being warmly welcomed into the Women in Business community has inspired me to contribute! Entering the world of Business and Finance can feel daunting, especially when female role models are few. WiB is a pillar of support, offering a space where we can share experiences, learn from each other, and find empowerment. I would love to be a part of making our events more impactful and to strengthen existing and future sponsorship relationships that help bring everyone at WiB together.
At sixth form, I chaired the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, where I organised a successful LGBTQ+ music night that brought together diverse communities in a vibrant, inclusive space. This helped me develop skills in event planning and collaboration. I also led the Feminist Society, organising weekly sessions, including a collaboration with our traditionally male-dominated Economics Society to discuss the gender pay gap. Both roles honed my event planning and collaboration skills, as I worked with various partners to ensure the success and impact of each event. I want to bring my familiarity with manging different stakeholders to bring valuable support for our events!
At WiB, I hope to apply these skills to elevate our events, ensuring they are not only inspiring, but also well-organised and inclusive. I will also focus on building strong partnerships with sponsors to provide resources and opportunities that benefit our members.
