Edgar Schaeff
Dear Biochemists,
I am returning to run as your wellbeing representative this year, and hope that you were happy with my job last year. You might have noticed that I am also running for academic representative, odd isn’t it, that’s because I really want to continue in representing you. Let me briefly summarize what I could do thanks to your support:
Firstly, through your initiative in polls, and personal conversations, I could regularly collate and presented our year groups wellbeing to the department, which helped prompt the department into organizing wellbeing talks on sleep and mental health for us.
Secondly, as you had indicated that workload related stress consistently had the largest impact on our year groups wellbeing, I worked hard with the academic reps to spread out workload and to improve your education experience.
But most importantly, I am very glad that I could help some of your peers who reached out and could refer them to professional advice.
If you re-elect me as your wellbeing representative this year, I will continue with what I have done and further foster our community by:
- Hosting Fortnightly Biochem Union Get Togethers
- Help with organizing biochem events, possibly a black-tie dinner, with the other biochem reps, and Biochemsoc.
- Founding a groupchat that allows year one’s and two’s, who opt in to interact more,
- Working together with the new life science wellbeing advisor and staff to organize wellbeing events.
Thank you for giving me the chance to represent you.
xoxo
your Eggi
