Hello, fellow physicists!
As students in this demanding academic environment, we all face pressures and challenges that can impact our well-being. That’s why I’m running to be your Departmental Wellbeing Representative.
I’m Thana, and I'm committed to prioritising student wellbeing. I received a special award in my previous school for my dedication to helping others and putting their needs first, whilst maintaining academic success. This experience has shaped my approach to supporting those around me, and I’m eager to bring that same dedication to our Physics community.
I understand the stress of balancing academic expectations and personal life. From performing music in front of large audiences to managing my studies, I've learned that a strong support network is essential for success. That’s why I want to ensure you have access to all the well-being resources you may need.
As your Wellbeing Representative, I will:
- Promote mental health resources and ensure that you feel comfortable reaching out for support.
- Advocate for better communication between you and staff, particularly regarding workload and expectations.
- Collaborate with other departments to strengthen our connections and create a more supportive atmosphere at Imperial.
- Create a confidential feedback system where your concerns are taken seriously and acted upon whenever possible.
- Provide guidance on accessing support for personal issues, connecting you with the right resources and team.
- Make positive changes within our community.
I’m here to listen and act, so together, we can make well-being a priority and build a supportive environment where everyone feels valued.
