Being a post graduate taught student at the Faculty of Medicine is rewarding. With its diverse master's programs falling under its various departments, this is the juncture to collaborate, network and learn from other students. As a Post Graduate Taught Academic and Welfare Officer, I intend to facilitate this better through different means, seeing that these are career defining courses.
First, I aim to establish a robust feedback network for PG taught students through weekly online forums and frequent departmental surveys in addition to in-person chats. This, coupled with input from course representatives, will help us improve academic requirements and solve grievances and welfare concerns together.
Next, I plan on drafting proposals for an increased frequency of career sessions targeted at PG Taught students in the faculty specifically, helping them explore medical careers in academia and industry. Your suggestions will be invaluable to accomplish this.
Finally, I intend to help students be better informed about departmental progress happening across multiple campuses, potentially developing pathways to encourage interdisciplinary exchange of ideas through networking sessions.
Having already worked as a member secretary and cultural secretary in the Student Council at my university during my undergraduate, I intend to carry forward this enthusiasm to help fellow students into my Master's.
Let's work together to address your concerns better!
