Leo Layzell
Hi everyone! I'm Leo and I would love to be the next Chair of Respiratory Society!
Since joining this society when it was established, I've met amazing people and had fantastic experiences at our events. I'm passionate about continuing the great work of previous committees and taking our society to the next level.
As President and Academic Officer of AMSA for the past two years, I've gained tons of experience running a large academic and social society. These skills will help me lead Respiratory Soc effectively. Next year, I’ll be studying Translational Respiratory Medicine for my iBSc, so I can dedicate a lot of time and effort to our society.
My Goals as Chair:
-
Boost the Respiratory Conference:
- Our first conference was a huge success! I want to keep the momentum going and get even more people involved next year.
-
More Regular Events:
- Plan social and academic events throughout the year, so we always have something exciting on the calendar.
-
Lecture Series:
- Host academic lectures and talks that offer teaching and learning opportunities for everyone.
-
Sponsorship Outreach:
- Actively seek sponsors like MDU to support our events and initiatives.
What I've achieved with AMSA:
- Organised mock clinical exams for all year groups.
- Secured a big sponsorship from MDU.
- Ran a successful career lecture series with doctors sharing their experiences.
