Poppy-Valerie Walker
As a current School Liasion officer, I would very much like to continue in my role for the upcoming year. Over the last year, I would hope I have already shown I can do a good job! (And we all know how important evidence-based practice is.) Those of you who have heard from me will know how trigger-happy I am when it comes to sending out and replying to emails; composing an eloquent message and then pressing that little send button is one of my simple joys. Looking back at this year, many important lessons have been learned – the importance of avoiding King Solomon Primary, for example, and doing everything we can to evade DBS schools! Little tips like these will not only improve my work next year, but will also be shared with my fellow SLO. I have also been adept at communicating with and executing the wishes of the presidents this year, plus other members of the committee.
In future, I'd like to work with our Subcommittee to mail schools the excellent new supplementary handbooks to give the children. Improving our feedback system by making the form more attractive would also be beneficial. Having become the hyper-organised control-freak I always aspired to be, and having gained some important “nous” into the workings of the job, I feel I would be ideal to reprise my role, and pull off a similarly efficient performance. Excuse me now whilst I go check my inbox for any new messages.
