Maaira Khan

Hi! I'm Maaira, a first year medic and regular TBH volunteer. As one of the winners of the 'most hours volunteered' award at TBH's AGM this year, I'm sure my commitment shows that I'd do a great job as Publicity Officer ;)

• Recruiting as many keen volunteers as possible for visits - placing an emphasis on retention of volunteers
• ⁠Publicising when/where our next school visit will be
• Raising awareness of the incredible work TBH does so that other medics/non-medics want to get involved

• Freshers’ fair ideas: stall with ‘mock stations’ for any interested potential volunteers to try out + have Payal hand out merch and do some funny campus interviews (this should get some more non-medics interested in what we do too!)
• ⁠Publicity fliers (hung up around SAF) and social media posts on Instagram/Tiktok to raise awareness of the work we do – updating after school visits with pictures and videos of memorable moments
• ⁠Compiling a list of humorous ‘overheard at TBH’ quotes to post on social media
• Working with equipment officers to create some more merchandise such as badges, hoodies, mini-Payal plushies etc. to widen publicity
• Adding an ‘estimated distance’/recommended route to schools from CX/South Ken on posts publicising upcoming visits to make it easier for volunteers to plan their journeys
• Incentivising more regular volunteers by offering a merchandise prize at the end of the year for commitment
