Asian Medical Students Association: Chair

Hello everyone! I’m Nickson, and I’m running for President this year.

Being a part of AMSA for over 2 years now has been an incredible experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have met so many wonderful people!

This year, I had the privilege of serving as an Academic Officer, where I was part of the team that organised mock Finals and CPA examinations, re-introduced the Careers Talk Series, and secured £700 of sponsorship funding. However, these events would not have been possible without the help of members from all years and universities, and I am keen to build on these experiences while continuing this culture of inclusivity for everyone.

Looking forward, the feedback that I have received from members during these events has been instrumental in shaping my goals for the future. Your priorities are my priorities, and I will be making every effort to implement the following:

Establishing a centralised feedback and/or voting system so that members can directly guide what events are run throughout the year
Introducing formalised, in-person clinical skills teaching, with an emphasis on examinations and procedures
Collaborating with other societies to improve AMSA’s reach for both academics and socials
Pursuing more sponsorship opportunities to fund subsidies and/or clinical equipment
Building on the current AMSA Alumni scheme to provide opportunities for networking from beyond Medical School

I have truly enjoyed my time at AMSA so far, and I would love for the opportunity to give back to this incredible community as President!
