Yun Hui Tan

Hi everyone! My name is Abigail / Yun Hui and I am running for Vice President of Haematology society. Haematology is a field that resonates with me; I was once hospitalised for anemia and the sheer breadth of knowledge awes me! Having watched the tutorials conducted by HaemSoc, I feel that they really helped me with my learnings, and I look forward to give back.

I was on subcommittee for iPRAS and Surgical Society, where I helped to acquire items needed for conferences and helped with the set-up/ cleanup during conferences. In addition, I helped to welcome some of the speakers/ demonstrators. I believe my experience in organising conferences will be an asset to HaemSoc.

This year, I am the female lead character in the Singapore Society musical, and I have performed at multiple events for ICSM Choir and Chamber Choir. These performance gigs have honed my confidence and have taught me the value of constant self-improvement, which are key qualities for a leader. Juggling all these commitments in medical school over the last year has also developed my time-management skills, which would enable me to serve wholeheartedly as Vice President of HaemSoc.
