Mahjong: Technical Instructor

Hi! I’m Jasmine Fung, a second-year Biochemistry student who you may recognise from mahjong sessions every Friday at RSM. I’ve really enjoyed being on committee this year, so I’m excited to run for Technical Instructor again!

For those who don’t know me, my passion for mahjong started from watching my family play during Chinese New Year when I was younger. This inspired me to learn the gameplay (not the gambling) to explore different tactics and strategies, and improve my memory through playing.

Since being technical instructor, I’ve been able to learn more variants besides Cantonese (which I am most confident in), especially in regard to Japanese. By continuing my role, I hope to explore and play even more variants.

Moreover, I hope to continue sharing my enthusiasm for mahjong with more freshers by teaching them the gameplay, which I have successfully done so in my previous school and at Imperail. I love sharing my culture with others, and seeing how they also start to share my passion for Mahjong. As technical instructor, I hope to maintain patient when teaching while also making Mahjong fun and easy to play. I also aim to maintain the same chill but fun atmosphere of the sessions, and support my committee with organising events.

Thank you for your consideration :) (Yes I basically copied my manifesto from last year but please vote for me!)
