Sudharshan Palaniappa

Hi everyone! My name is Sudharshan, and I am a second-year medical student who is excited to be running for the position of External Research Coordinator in the SORA.

As someone who understands the importance of research in contributing to the future of healthcare and has been actively engaged in research projects, I am keen on playing a bigger role within SORA. I have been a member of the SORA subcommittee this year and contributed to events such as Speed Networking and Young Researchers Conference, and hope to take up a position with greater impact.

With my interest in research, I am keen on becoming an external research coordinator for the society. I hope to be able to network with various organisations and researchers to source for speakers and relevant research opportunities. I would also look into setting up a research mentorship programme to link interested students and available mentors who are established in their areas of expertise. Having been in the committees and subcommittees for other societies such as ClinGen, MedTech and Pharmacology, I have developed good communication skills in contacting potential speakers and sponsors. Additionally, the organisational and teamworking skills I have gained would also help me successfully carry out the above-mentioned initiatives.

Beyond experiences and skills, I am most excited to bring my passion and commitment to this position, ensuring that I can work for the society to the best of my abilities.
