Keith Poon

Hi everyone!

My name is Keith, a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate who has a keen interest in ensuring that students maximise the value of the Investment Society. I believe I have the necessary background and experience to do this.

My experience:

• President of Falmouth & Keogh Hall - planned and executed events for 100+ students, developing organisational, negotiation and budgeting skills
• Council Policy and Strategy Co-Executive Director at the International Council of Malaysian Scholars - managed teams and in constant contact with alumni in top firms across the world, involving event and stakeholder management skills
• Lead Writer of The STEM Bulletin - have written multiple articles including reusable spacecraft engineering and galactic astrophysics, while organising writing events such as Christmas Writers’ Event
• Mentorship experience - have proofread and edited numerous personal statements of students aiming for top universities

As Head of Editorial, I will:

• Revamp the style of the mailing list to present all information in a more aesthetically pleasing way without the loss of information to save students’ time
• Introduce easily digestible market updates and recent news in the financial sector including recent mergers, IPOs, economic outlook, etc.
• Introduce Alumni Insights, where alumni share stories/learnings regarding their career and application tips
• Invite contributions from students to write articles on financial topics of their choice that will be featured on the Investment Society’s platforms
