Chiara Dell'Oro

Hi Everyone!

My name is Chiara and I am currently a 4th Year Medical Student in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology BSc :) I've always been passionate about Gastro and hope to become a Gastroenterologist or Colorectal surgeon in the future (really can't decide at the moment T^T).

I have really enjoyed this year so far, and hope to spread the love for GastroHep - not only do I wish to make this the society to help next year's GastroHep BSc students, I hope to start doing our own teaching sessions for Years 1/2/3 or Years 5/6. Aside from teaching, I'm excited to potentially organise panel events with leading doctors in the field of Gastro/Hep, fun activites where memebers can socialise with each other, or network with other doctors in the field. Collaborations with other societies are also something to look forward to!

Having been heavily involved in Sexpression (a national charity) as thier National Communications Director, I believe my managerial skills from that role translate across to help me in the position of Chair of Gastro Soc - I am new to the society, so I am keen to learn from everyone else too! Locally at Imperial, I've been part of our local Sexpression branch for two years as Events Officer and Secretary, as well as Women in Healthcare Leadership Society, as their Events Officer and more recently Promotional Officer in a collab event with Surg Soc.
