Women in Business: Events Manager

Hi!

My name is Fatima, and I am a second-year biochemistry student. I have been actively involved in the society for two years and I am excited to stand for this position to help society members excel in the business world.

Why me?

  • I am currently on the committee for the South-Asian society and I am keen on building on my experience in event planning to provide similar experiences for members to further their career ambitions and bridge the information gap for application processes.
  • I was also on the committee for charity week at imperial to host their annual auction dinner and therefore have organisational, event planning and time management skills.

I understand the importance of connecting with women with similar goals and ambitions and understand how rewarding guidance in early career stages is. This motivates me to arrange the best opportunities for members to fulfill their aspirations of working in an industry they may not be familiar with.

I intend on doing so by:

  • Hosting informal socials (mini golf, brunch socials/collaborations with societies: femtech, knitsoc, artsoc) to connect and network
  • Holding panels to provide insight on different career paths and opportunities
  • Arranging networking events to cultivate valuable connections with professionals in the business industry
  • Collaborating with societies (investmentsoc, finsoc, entrepreneursoc) to ensure everyone can explore the vast amount of opportunities they can avail
  • Cultivating an engaging and collaborative environment to make the coming year mutually beneficial

Thank you for reading my manifesto and I would really appreciate your vote!
