To my manifesto readers:
Hello! I am Jim Ji, a first-year Biomedical Technology Ventures undergraduate. I am running for the Vice President position in the MedTech Society because of my enduring interest in Medical Technology, its industries, and my past experiences in student unions.
I earned various leadership experiences in high school student unions. I worked as the head of the coordination department and vice president to hold insight academic and technology events. One good example is the Neurotechnology training I organised in preparation for the Brainbee competition. I referred to MRI scans from the University of British Columbia to teach trainees how to read MRI scans from coronal, sagittal, and axial views. Besides, I made a visit to a local hospital to observe the clinical operations of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation(TMS), Computed Tomography(CT), and Therapeutic Ultrasound. These experiences familiarised me with the procedure of holding Medical Technology events.
As a future Vice President of the society, I aim to introduce frontier Medical Technologies, internship, and research opportunities. I will contact HR from MedTech companies and Medical Engineering Research Scientists to find internship and research opportunities for society members. Finally, I aim to continue arranging MedTech workshops to familiarise members with the operations of the most up-to-date technologies.
My clear plans for future society activities and past working experiences make me a good fit for the Vice President position. Voting for me will be a choice that you will never regret! I really appreciate your support!
Sincerely,
Jim
