Women in Business: Secretary

Greetings!

I'm Raelene, an upcoming fourth-year chemist, excited to run for Secretary in the Imperial College Women in Business society! I'm passionate about leading a society that hosts educational and recreational events, fostering strong connections among like-minded individuals.

During my time at Imperial, I developed a skill set perfectly suited to this role. Serving as Events Officer for RCSU and the Indonesian Society, and as Secretary for the latter, I acquired strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Managing events ranged from intimate Kew Garden trips to the grand RCSU autumn ball for 400 attendees showcased my versatility. I've proven adept at handling diverse event scales and maintaining effective communication between the union and the committee. As the Indonesian society's secretary, my consistent use of communication skills included releasing monthly newsletters.

My vision for the Secretary role is clear and impactful:

1.Robust Communication: Establish strong channels between the society, union, members, and the committee.

2.Detailed Records: Utilize my attention to detail to create accurate and comprehensive meeting documentation.

3.Fortnightly Committee Meetings: Organize regular meetings to enhance collaboration, discuss events, and ensure a coordinated approach.

4.Monthly Newsletters: Commit to promptly publishing informative newsletters.

5.Cultural Collaboration: Actively engage with other societies to share insights.

I believe that my experiences make me a strong candidate for the Secretary position. I am eager to contribute to the Imperial College’s Women in Business society and with your support, I am confident in my ability to fulfill these responsibilities and elevate the society.

Best,

Raelene
