Canadian Society: Chair

Hello!

I’m Emiri, and I am a 2nd year Mechanical Engineering student.

I spent most of my life in Canada (around 12 years to be specific) and finished high school in Canada. However, upon coming to Imperial, I realised that there weren't many Canadians (at least around me) and felt quite lonely. Thus, I would love to create a fun environment for anyone interested or remotely-related to Canada to enjoy!

If elected as Chair for Canadian Society, I will hold events at least once a month and provide an opportunity for Canadians/Canada-interested people to meet. I aim to organise events of different types from fun to employment-related. I would also like to increase the number of members from 55 to 100 and even more. I think this is very achievable if we participate in Fresher’s Fair and raise awareness of Canadian Society! The more members, the greater events can be and more diverse the events can be! While arranging fun events, I aim to keep the membership £0, so that students can easily join our society.

Thank you for reading my manifesto, and I hope you consider voting for me!!
