Isabella Dhoot
Hello, I’m Isabella :)
With inequality continuing to rise, we have the responsibility to uphold the values of our faith and make a positive impact on the communities around us.
From teaching SENCo students how to read music and play the piano, to being actively involved in a Coronavirus tutoring initiative to help those in less advantaged positions, I have had the privilege of seeing the positive impact Sewa can bring. I would like this feeling to be accessible to everyone in this community.
Having volunteered in schools and orphanages in the Dominican Republic and Poland, I would like to get this society more involved with charities abroad, aiming to organise an opportunity for members to volunteer in India. Being a previous ambassador for the international medicine programme Global Pre-Meds, I have the ability to converse with people from all walks of life to help plan events and trips, a key skill required for this position.
My vision is to bring more volunteering opportunities for members of the society. These include hosting more fundraisers and events, arranging more volunteering with local mandirs and schools and most excitingly developing a programme to allow for international volunteering.
I am passionate about giving back to the community, providing me with the motivation to thrive at this role. With HinduSoc being such an established society, we have the potential to help support more of those around us. Let's be at the forefront in this progression.
