Xiaoping Lang

Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoping and I am currently a second year physics student. I have been part of the WSET society since last year and I have had to privilege to join and enjoy many of the wonderful events organised by the society. This has allowed me to be familiarised with the type and form of events WSET hosts, and I would like to be part of the committee to deliver the events to you and ensure you have a positive experience with WSET society. Here is what I have planned if I get to become the Sponsorship Manager:

• maintaining the working relationship with existing sponsors and explore more potential opportunities they might have to offer to our members
• organise more exclusive events with sponsors from various sectors including office visits, insight days, panels and workshops, as well as social and networking events
• increase the variety of sponsors by reaching out to companies that is not currently in our sponsor list and expand the range of sectors we have, for example, getting research facilities and institutions as our partners
• reach out to companies in sectors that lack a representation of women
• run collaboration with other societies such as Woman in Business, Finance, Consultancy, Investment, etc., as well as departmental societies that focus on representation of female representation and gender diversity
