Chemical Engineering: First Year Coordinator

Hi! I'm Faith, a current first-year, and I would love to be next year's First Year Coordinator. As I'm sure all of you can agree, the first year of uni is a nerve-wracking experience, especially the first few weeks and I want to help to give the new students as smooth a transition as possible.

The Family's scheme is something I was extremely excited to learn about when I first came to Imperial and I believe it is an important event that I could help to keep running successfully. Having that connection with older students, whom I knew were there to reach out to, really helped me settle into the department and gave me confidence that I could get through this and I would love to help share this experience with others.

I want to create a safe, welcoming environment in the department and also make this first-year fun, as it is supposed to be, by organizing events and just being someone who is there to reach out to for any new student who needs any advice or help, whether that be for academic or social issues.

I had so much fun participating in the events this year and want to take my place in keeping the Chemical Engineering Society as one of the best at Imperial. If any current older students have any suggestions on anything that would have helped them feel more comfortable entering the uni as a first-year, I would love to hear your ideas as well!
