Yuki Agarwala

Hello, I am a current medic and graduate of BSc Medical Biosciences, and am running to be the academic officer for OncoSoc this year! I conducted my BSc project in oncology and am truly passionate about this area. Based on my experiences in both Medical Biosciences and Medicine, I aim to increase engagement with OncoSoc through the following:

• Currently, the society only runs a surgical oncology conference. I would like to run a medical / clinical oncology conference to broaden perspectives on these careers, and encourage Medical Biosciences students to engage with the society through oncology research-based conferences.
• Organizing tutorials, mock OSCEs for medics and support the cancer biology module for biomed students
• Invite PhD students to give talks on the different PhD schemes and advice on pursuing a PhD in oncology
• Organize workshops on how to read and critique research papers in oncology
• Arrange talks by oncology professors not online in the UK, but abroad as well

I would love to organize these events and bring oncology closer to all of us this year. Please vote Yuki for academic officer :)
